Kenji Nakanishi (中西 健志 Nakanishi Kenji) is one of Mei's classmates, and a good friend of Yamato's. He has a big crush on Asami, and eventually confesses to her. The two are currently a happy couple.
Appearance
Kenji has messy brown hair and wide, big brown eyes. It doesn't seem that many girls are attracted to Kenji as they are to Yamato(possibly because of his perverted manner).
Personality
He is very silly and seems to act on impulse, usually to his perverted ways, sometimes to make Yamato laugh, such as when he lifts Mei's skirt in an attempt to do so. He admires girls with big breasts and teases them, most likely revealing a fetish for larger breasts.
Although omitted in the anime, in the manga Kenji was initially antagonistic towards Mei and openly bullied her in front of Yamato. However, after spending time with Mei, Nakanishi eventually befriends her.
History
He doesn't have a background story; he is only a minor character and his family nor his childhood is ever shown/introduced throughout the series.
Plot
He is seen hopping around with Yamato around the school, trying to make him laugh, when he accidentally bumps Mei in the back by accident and she falls, shooting Kenji a glare before getting up and going away. Yamato grows curious about her and asks Kenji about her; it appears that Mei is in his class. He explains Mei to Yamato, then they leave. They encounter Mei again later, only this time, Kenji doesn't know that it's her and tries to make Yamato laugh by lifting her skirt while they are on the stairs. A frustrated and rather embarrassed Mei turns to kick the perpetrator, only to have a distracted Yamato, surrounded by fangirls, get kicked in the hand - and all because of Kenji. Throughout the series, he falls in love with Asami, and is surprised when Mei gives him advice on how to apologize to her and get a date with her.
Relationships
He is currently in a romantic relationship with Asami.
